Counselors in Action Tanzania is an Organization which seek to see that the counseling profession is  given its due importance and recognition in the country and the counseling services are utilized for the betterment of the citizens at an individual and group level.

CiAT VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT

VISION;
        To see a Tanzanian society free from psycho-social problems where its members lead happy and productive lives.

MISSION ;
To provide a broad-range of psycho-social services that will improve individuals’ mental,   physical, and social well being as well as equipping them with skills, competencies and    human values  that will help them become happy and productive members in their particular communities

OBJECTIVES 

CiAT objectives are:

           a) Promotion
CiAT promotes counselling profession in the country through action-oriented programs such as offering therapy to survivors of disastrous and traumatic events 
 b) Co-ordination
CiAT links counsellors and potential clients across the country 
c) Empowerment
CiAT organizes workshops, seminars, study tours, and other outreach programs that are aimed at sharpening counsellors’ skills and improving their professional and social live
  d) Research
CiAT conducts research on various psycho-social issues that will lead Tanzanians to live happy and productive lives. Ref. research section 
 e) Training
CiAT offers short courses on counselling and psychology related issues such as Addictions,
Drug Abuse, and Trauma and Crisis intervention. See under Training section 
 f) Psycho-education
CiAT provide psycho-social education to various groups of people in the country such as students, soldiers, etc. Ref. Psycho-education section.
